http://lesliebaumannmd.comWhat is your exact skin type?

Do you still believe that there are only four skin types that everyone could have? Why should you know your skin type exactly?
I bought and used several products that went viral online, but I haven't found one that fits on my skin yet. It didn't work, and I've only experienced side effects from the products. I feel envy whenever I read 'skincare empty bottle reviews' that said they found the perfect skincare products finally that they would love to use for life long time.
Why do we need to know the exact skin type?
You can try out all the products that are good for you and eventually find the right one for you if you have a lot of money. I'm kidding. We usually purchase our skincare products by relying on beauty bloggers reviews, friends' recommendations, or naively, cosmetics companies' marketing.
You probably had disappointing experiences because the recommended products from other people didn't work for you. Because your skin type is different from the people who recommended the products. The starting point was different.
Helena Rubinstein (1870~1965)
There are two people to remember if you want to know about skin types. First of all, do you know that the commonly used skin type classification method was developed by cosmetics company Helena Rubinstein in 1915, about 100 years ago?
The founder, Helena Rubinstein, is a Polish-born American entrepreneur who founded a cosmetics company named after her and classified it as dry, normal, oily, and sensitive skin types based on the amount of sebum secretion of the skin.
At the time, it was not the idea of medical personnel, but it was the idea of a business person. It was not a standard classification for medical people, but still, it's a common classification for consumers today from consumers who used the product at that time.
Leslie Baumann, M.D.
Known for her book 'The Skin Type Solution,' Leslie Baumann founded the Cosmetics Dermatology Center at the University of Miami in 1997 as an American dermatologist. Also, a writer and researcher based in Miami, Florida, and is the founder and CEO of the Baumann Cosmetics Institute.
Based on years of clinical experience in the clinic, she categorised skin types into four main types: dry vs. oily, sensitive vs. resistant, pigmented vs. non-pigmented, and wrinkled vs. tight. She then sorted out 16 skin types in each combination.
If you are interested in skin types, you may have seen Baumann's 16 skin types chart. After completing a survey called the Baumann Skin Type Test, you will see the exact skin type for you among the 16 types above.
Baumann Skin Type Test is a widely known skin type classification in the medical community. It is used as a selecting the skin type of the experimental group when the group of experiments can not be encountered during clinical trials for a research paper.
Baumann test, which has been praised by those who have completed the test as being "goosebumps."
