DIY all natural air freshener
Have you prepared Christmas gifts? If not (or even if you're already done), why don’t you make a very simple DIY air freshener with all natural ingredients in minutes? I guarantee it’s REALLY simple and cost effective. Moreover, it is great for health and the environment! Let’s begin.
What do you use as an air fresheners for your fabrics and rooms? Do you spray Febreze? It is simple and effective, but have you ever checked the ingredients in the products? I used to use Febreze's ‘Linen and Sky,’ but when I checked its rate on EWG’ it was marked with a ‘D,’ which is a ‘HIGH CONCERN’ and likely hazardous to health and the environment. The concerns are that they act as hormone disruptors, causing asthma to develop and even causing cancer in humans.
Why don’t you make a homemade air freshener?
You can add the beautiful and safe scent in your place and also reduce the toxic chemicals too! It can be used as an air freshener for rooms, wardrobes, and fabrics.
For 100ml air freshener (You can scale up according to the ratio):
- 63ml of demineralized or distilled water
- 32ml of vodka (no need for a top shelf one)
- 10 drops of essential oils of your choice (I use peppermint & grapefruit essential oils)
- A spray bottle (a glass bottle is ideal)
This no scented alcohol emulsifies essential oils into an evenly diluted spray. Also, it is naturally antibacterial, anti-fungal, and a natural deodoriser. It means that you don’t need to use preservatives separately!
Simply mix together in the bottle and shake well to combine.
Spray and enjoy the all natural scent. Merry Christmas! :D
